Summary

We started this chapter by talking about the impact of financial data integrity issues if these are not addressed and managed properly. We then discussed various concepts relevant to data integrity management, as these will help us better understand the topics in the upcoming chapters. These include a few foundational financial concepts, as well as a few advanced topics such as mutual exclusion locks and orphaned records. Toward the end of this chapter, we covered the myths and misconceptions that surround finance data integrity, which gave us a deeper appreciation of the right mindset and attitude toward data integrity.
