Quick Migration is a feature that is really helpful when you want to move VMs from one host to another and VMware vMotion or Storage vMotion isn't available. Perhaps you have several standalone ESXi hosts running without vCenter and there is a need to move VMs from one host to another. The Quick Migration feature of Veeam Backup & Replication is available in the free edition, as well as in the paid editions, and could be really helpful for those one-off migration scenarios. This will require the ESXi hosts to be licensed at Essentials or higher (though the communication can go directly to the ESXi hosts if the vCenter Server application is not used) and can migrate VMs from one host to another or from one datastore to another, or both. Quick Migration does a series of API calls to the ESXi host or vCenter Server that includes rebuilding the VM on the target storage.
