In Part 1 of the book, we saw Maria's team set up the foundational layers and complete the first automated deployment, the day 0 and day 1 problems. While briefly discussing some of the supposedly day 2 issues, we will start part 2 with questions about finding documentation, requesting resources, and overall ownership metrics. With the original and overarching goal of reducing developers' cognitive load across the board so they can ask, use, and add value to their end-users, the idea of reduction applies to day 2 problems with the same level of rigor.
There can be a confusing set of solutions to solve this problem. Still, the one that takes the bacon home is the idea of framing the portal as the single pane of glass that unifies platform capabilities built in the previous chapters.
