GeoServer is an open source server-side software written in Java that allows users to share and edit geospatial data. Designed for interoperability, it publishes data from any major spatial data source using open standards. GeoServer allows you to display your spatial information to the world. Time for action – adding a GeoServer cached layer as overlay

Adding a GeoServer cached layer as an overlay is very similar to the other examples, but in this case we will use the GeoWebCache address as a base tile. We will also use the gmap service:

  1. Open chapter7/index.html in your favorite browser.

  2. Click on the GeoServer using GWC and the gmap service example.

  3. Open /chapter7/google/geoserver_gwcgmap/index.html and /chapter7/google/geoserver_gwcgmap/map.js.

  4. Review the map.js file:
