We've covered a lot in our time together. In everything that we've covered, we learned some useful patterns that will serve you, as you expand your skill base. Specific examples were shown that are useful in themselves, but the underlying concepts being taught will assist you, as you build your own Puppet infrastructure.

Just as importantly, we learned that tools exist to make our lives easier. As security professionals, often times, change can be viewed as the enemy. However, with the right controls and processes in place, change can actually be a positive thing. Change drives business values. A company that is not moving forward is falling behind. Tools, such as Puppet and the others introduced in this book can help manage that change and still satisfy the regulatory, and other, requirements that are present in our jobs.
