Preface

Extending the functionality of select elements with Bootstrap Select plugin

In this recipe, we will improve the functionality of select elements with the great Bootstrap Select plugin, available at https://github.com/silviomoreto/bootstrap-select. However, since the author of the plugin is intending to update it only after the official release of Bootstrap 4, we need to find a better solution in the meantime. Looking at the plugin's issues on GitHub, a very interesting thread pertaining to making the plugin work with Bootstrap 4 prerelease can be found at https://github.com/silviomoreto/bootstrap-select/issues/1135.

A GitHub user, Rodrigo Martins, has adapted the plugin to work with Bootstrap v4.0.0-alpha.6. You can check out his fork of the original plugin at https://github.com/rodrigo-martins/bootstrap-select.

Using the GitCDN at https://gitcdn.xyz/, we can now add this forked repository's customized raw CSS (at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rodrigo-martins/bootstrap-select/master/dist...
