Analyzing the analytics page

Let’s begin with an important question: what is website analytics? Web analytics is the collection, reporting, and analysis of website data. It’s a way to learn from your users and understand their behavior so you can improve their experience on your website. There are external analytics tools that you can add to your website, and I’ll share some of my favorites in this section, but first, let’s look at Squarespace’s own built-in tools.

Finding your Squarespace analytics

To locate your Analytics page, begin at the home panel and select the last item on the list, labeled Analytics, as seen in Figure 16.1:

When you click on this page, your dashboard view may vary based on the services you have enabled for your site, but generally, the areas you’ll be able to view will look similar to the following figure:
