If you need to develop web applications quickly, where do you turn? Enter the FARM stack. The FARM stack combines the power of the Python ecosystem with REST and MongoDB and makes building web applications easy and fast. You'll also understand how to optimize images, cache responses with Redis, and add additional features to your application as well as explore tips, tricks, and best practices to make your development experience a breeze. Before you know it, you'll be deploying the application to different platforms. By the end of this book, you will have built a couple of functional applications efficiently and will have the springboard you need to delve into diverse and more specialized domains.

To get the most out of this book

You will need Python 3.6 or later installed on your computer, as well as Node.js 16 (or later). You should also have the basic knowledge needed to install packages with pip (Python) and npm or yarn (Node.js).

For the deployment of the projects, you will need to create accounts on MongoDB, Heroku, Vercel, Netlify, and Cloudinary (free). For the deployment on DigitalOcean, the cheapest solution is suggested (at the time of writing, 5 USD per month). I have tried to use the cheapest and, where possible, free tiers of the services so you can try before you find a solution that works well for you.

If you are using the digital version of this book, we advise you to type the code yourself or access the code from the book’s GitHub repository (a link is available in the next section). Doing so will help you avoid any potential errors related to the copying and pasting of code.
