Developers often face the difficult task of translating their clients' needs into a multimedia-rich web application. Although in the previous chapter we discussed several powerful options that may be used, they will not always suffice. Often, the client will need various images displayed in various locations, depending on various functions. They may want images to be cropped before resizing. Or they may wish to embed images from an external image provider such as Flickr.
We will look at several use cases in this chapter, each of which will explore new options for displaying images. By the end of this chapter, we will have a firm groundwork for storing and displaying images in nearly any configuration you may desire.
