Chapter 6. Improving Your Students' Writing

In this chapter, we are going to improve the writing of our students through the cubing technique. We are going to use a prewriting technique. This technique explores six different perspectives. First, you have to select a topic, person, problem, among others to explore. Students are to explore the same topic from six different perspectives as the sides of a cube. We are going to incorporate the cube in the Moodle course. In each recipe, we are going to deal with a different topic and we are going to explore a different side or perspective and the cube will show that aspect.

We are going to list the six perspectives of the cubing technique. Next to each perspective, we are going to have some keywords or questions so as to develop the aspects extensively. These are the perspectives with a brief description for each of them:

Describe—description of the topic and identification of its parts
Compare—similarities and differences of one topic to other topics...
