Install ExpressionEngine
Mask the true location of the ExpressionEngine files by changing where you log in to the control panel

.htaccess
to keep your ExpressionEngine's URLs more user-friendly (optional)

Please note that this chapter is for brand-new installations only. If you already have ExpressionEngine installed (either 1.x or 2.x), you should follow the appropriate updating instructions at http://expressionengine.com/user_guide/#install_docs. There are different instructions depending on whether you are upgrading from 1.x or an earlier 2.x version.
