We've looked at the basic operations in concrete5 in Chapter 1, Getting Started. You should now be familiar with using concrete5 and be able to update most of the content. Before we start building our own theme, we're going to dig into a few things in the background of concrete5.
This chapter is not a must, and if you're not eager to understand the technical things in the background, feel free to skip it. However, if you plan on using concrete5 for more than just one personal site, read this chapter to get a better understanding of the inner workings of concrete5. This should also help you if a customer of yours wants to know what's possible with concrete5. Knowing what can be done out of the box can help a graphic designer as well, even if he's not going to write the code himself.
