Adjusting your website's color scheme


Color can play a critical role in conveying your brand image to your target audience. In your Website Toolkit, you may already have one or more brand colors that you can use on your website. However, you may need to source additional colors or create a new color scheme from scratch. With an infinite number of colors to choose from, and an infinite number of color combinations, you could spend months trying to find the right ones to use. Fortunately, there are plenty of tools to help.

Before you dive into the wonderful world of color, here are some tips to help you focus and use color wisely on your website:

  • A good place to start is with one dominant color, which will form the background of your pages, a primary accent color, for things such as page headings, navbar, or dividing lines, and a secondary accent color for link text or buttons.
