Chapter 7. Module Setup – General Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, Payables, and Receivables

Now that you have completed the system and company setup for Dynamics GP, you are ready to move on to module setup. You do not need to set up any modules you will not be using with the exception of the General Ledger. Even if you are not planning to use the General Ledger, it is recommended to set it up because all the other modules are dependent on it.

In this chapter, we will cover setup for the following modules:

  • General Ledger

  • Bank Reconciliation

  • Payables Management

  • Receivables Management

Detailed navigation will be provided for each setup window, or you can keep using the setup checklist (Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | Setup | Setup Checklist).

Tip

To perform the module setup, you can be logged in as any Dynamics GP user with appropriate permissions. Usually, the user performing the setup should be given the POWERUSER security role.
