Developing applications without using source code management is like driving without wearing a seat belt. Creating an app that must be supported for years and will be extended and modified to fit new requirements without knowing who wrote which code and why it was written is like going to the wilderness without a map and compass. Maybe you will manage to get through one day, but there will be nobody left with you.
By using Visual Studio Code to develop our app, we have all of the tools we need. The tools are Git for source code management and Azure DevOps for managing your app development, which will tighten cooperation between development and operation.
In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:
- Understanding Azure DevOps and what it offers
- Managing tasks, sprints, and boards in Azure DevOps
