All the different Slack features listed in this channel come to life in your Slack workspace, as discussed in Chapter 2, Setting Up Your Slack Workspace. To ensure your team is primed for effective collaboration on Slack, you will want to utilize Slack channels to create a flow of conversation, teams, and projects right through your workspace.
A channel is a place for your team to share messages, files, and tools around a particular topic, as stated in the channel's topic and description. Some common channels you can utilize on Slack would be #general
(for companywide updates and messages), #random
(for water-cooler conversation), and #support
(for tech troubleshooting).
