Striking a pose


So now we know how to navigate around with our camera and to reposition a pre-posed model, how can we make custom poses? Manga Studio won't constrain you to using just the poses that have been included in the Materials palette! You can edit the position of the model easily, using the same icons that we just discussed in the last section. Let's do some practice right now so you can see how it works.

First, we'll need some pose inspiration. I love to draw action, so I'm taking inspiration from martial arts moves. If you need to, sketch out a simple gesture drawing of the pose that you have in mind.

Next up we're going to choose one of the pre-positioned models that is close to our desired custom pose. Which base model you choose is really up to you. Let's go with Rise to full height because the legs are already spread fairly far apart, just like in our gesture drawing.
