Summary

This chapter provided a close look at the traffic shaping and control techniques you can employ to manage networking for a Hyper-V or Windows Server system. You learned how to setup quality of service by using software and hardware methods. You learned how to increase networking performance by exploiting the hardware-assistance features of modern network adapters. Finally, the extensibility of the switch was touched upon.

This concludes the discussion of network configuration for Hyper-V Server. Chapter 8, Performance Testing and Load Balancing, will revisit some of these subjects to help you learn how to monitor and measure your network utilization. The next chapter will focus on memory configuration available to your Hyper-V systems.
