Configuring Task Scheduler


Like MMC, Task Scheduler is also a tool that accompanies the Windows operating system from Window 2000 onwards. Task Scheduler allows system administrators and advanced users to perform automated tasks on a chosen computer. This service enables you to schedule a task that will run at a convenient time. Task Scheduler is based on time monitoring, and once the condition is met, then it executes the task. Similar to MMC, Task Scheduler can also help you schedule simple or complex tasks both on a local computer or on a remote computer.

 

Accessing Task Scheduler

To access Task Scheduler in your Windows 10 computer, complete the following steps:

  1. Press Windows key + R to open Run.
  2. Enter taskschd.msc and press Enter.
  3. Shortly after, Task Scheduler opens up, as shown in Figure 15.18:
