Once again, we have really only scratched the surface of what is possible, using simplified XML dashboards. I encourage you to dig into the examples in the UI xamples app (see the UI examples app section, earlier in this chapter).

When you are ready to make additional customizations or use some of the cool modules available from Splunk and the community, you can use advanced XML features, which we will look at in Chapter 9, Building Advanced Dashboards. In Chapter 6, Advanced Search Examples, we will dive into advanced search examples, which can be a lot of fun. We'll expose some really powerful features of the search language and go over a few tricks that I've learned over the years.
