Text-to-Speech was a new feature of Captivate 4. The idea is to type the voice-over narration in the Slide Notes panel and have Captivate convert it to a sound clip. To convert typed text to sound clips, Captivate uses some preinstalled voices called Speech Agents.
Due to their very large size, Adobe decided to make the installation of the Text-to-Speech Agents optional. Captivate 6 ships with one voice package. This package installs five Speech Agents.
If you have access to the original Captivate installation DVD, the additional voices are located in the Add-ons
folder of the DVD.
