Reconstructing reconstructions


In this task you will create a reconstruction of the witness's movements leading up to the UFO sighting. You'll do this by practicing your new found J-cut and L-cut skills, but this time you will be using preset markers to help you work out the optimal In points for your reconstruction clips. Instruction will be brief here to help you revise your newfound workflows.

Engage Thrusters

Use advanced marker functions to create a set of cutaway shots. Perform the following steps:

  1. Start by creating markers on the track for every time the witness mentions a location. Press M on the keyboard to set the marker at the location of the Timeline indicator. Attempt this first by ear, and then check your markers with the suggested marker locations, given as follows:

    • Leaving pub: 45;11

    • Walking down painless hill: 47;24

    • Crossing cow path: 49;23

    • Freddy's sheep field: 51;18

    • Seeing lights in the sky: 56;09
