You've already added a lot of detail to the interview by using the cutaway shots and reconstruction shots in various J- and L-cuts. However, most interviews you see on TV will flick between the standard two shots (Two_Shot.avi is an example of this) and over the shoulder shots to create a sense of intimacy with the people on screen. It's often used to add reaction (nodding) shots from the news reporter.
In this next section you will use two over-the-shoulder clips, OS_at_Newsperson.avi and OS_at_Witness.avi, to add new viewpoints to your interview. You will achieve this using the Lift function, as well as the ever popular three- and four-point edits.
Here you will create multiple viewpoints by cutting clips with the assistance of the Audio Waveform display. Perform the following steps:
Locate the OS_at_Newsperson.avi clip in the project Video bin and send it to the Source Monitor. Make the Source Monitor the active panel, then use the various keyboard shortcuts...
