Types of mobile automation frameworks

After the selection of an automation approach and appropriate tool as per the project requirements, we move on to the final step of selecting the appropriate framework to create a mobile automation solution for a project. In this section, we will discuss the various automation frameworks with a focus on mobile automation specifically.

The functional decomposition or test script modularity framework

Test modularity or functional decomposition is an approach in which the application under test is divided into modules or script components for each of the unique functionalities of the AUT. This framework utilizes the basic concept of object-oriented programming to create abstract- or high-level components to hide the lower-level components. This insulates the component from modifications made in the application objects or flow changes and provides modularity in the automation suite design.
