Removing nodes and disabling polling


This section covers how to remove nodes or applications entirely from the SolarWinds SAM database, and how to disable nodes, allowing nodes to remain accessible but excluded from polling.

You can select multiple nodes during these procedures.

Removing a node from SolarWinds SAM

The following procedure explains how to completely remove a node; it will be removed from the SolarWinds SAM SQL database and will no longer be displayed in the Orion web console:

  1. Log in to the Orion web console.

  2. Navigate to Orion Website Administration by clicking on Settings.

  3. Click on Manage Nodes under Node & Group Management.

  4. Select a node by checking the box next to it. Do not click on the node itself because that will take you to the Node Details Summary page.

  5. Click on the Delete button in the upper-right corner of the toolbar.

  6. You will be prompted with Are you sure you want to delete the selected item?.

  7. Click on Yes.
