Debugging is an inevitable part of test automation. When targeting mobile devices, the process introduces unique challenges, from varying viewports and touch interactions to network inconsistencies. Fortunately, Playwright is packed with great tools designed to make debugging mobile web apps a more manageable process.
We’ve already touched on some of these tools in earlier chapters, but let’s take a moment to review them again so you know exactly what’s in your toolbox.
The Trace Viewer is one of Playwright’s most useful debugging tools, especially handy when working with mobile tests. It gives you a detailed snapshot of your entire test run, which makes it helpful for tracking down issues that show up in headless mode or on a CI/CD pipeline.
