Using UI Mode in Playwright makes debugging much more visual. You can actually see what’s happening on the page step by step, which helps you quickly pinpoint where things might be going wrong or behaving unexpectedly.
The biggest differentiator from Playwright Inspector is time-travel debugging. You get a full visual timeline of every action, with DOM snapshots at each step. You can scrub through the timeline to see the page state at any past moment, which is invaluable for understanding how the UI evolved during the test.
UI Mode also helps you iterate faster through its watch mode. With watch mode, Playwright automatically re-runs your tests whenever it detects code changes.
