Given this is the last chapter, you should be thinking about how to deploy SharePoint and what actions are required for this to occur. This section provides some further guidance to your thoughts.

Q: Can a SharePoint deployment really help my career?

A: Of course… No one ever got fired for buying Microsoft. Yeah right.

If SharePoint is deployed correctly, yes it can; but this is like any IT deployment. If SharePoint is new to your organization, there will probably be several people making requests for its functionality.

Deploying a SharePoint strategy to an organization can be a stop-go process, partly because SharePoint creates new processes, so there can be challenges in deliveries and user acceptance; but it does not need to be this way. During this process there are what are known as Operating States that groups, teams, and organizations go through in getting any project or task accomplished and changes required in their behavior.
