Summary

In this chapter we covered assessing growth and what SharePoint capacity and resources are needed. Growth for SharePoint means many things, so we addressed what skills you need to begin finding internally and externally and what is the status in the market place.

Finding people is only one factor, so we also covered how to train your staff and some of the hidden costs you can identify early on. We also covered when and in what context Enterprise licensing is needed, and finally how to measure success after the first year of deployment.

Growth is always a challenging process. Avoiding the extremes of too much or too little growth can be counter-balanced by having a strategy. Knowing where to begin your plans for this growth strategy will help define what SharePoint success is and can be for your organization.

In the next chapter you will be introduced to how to select and manage your first SharePoint project.
