Plone 3 Products Development Cookbook
In the last chapter, we introduced some of the main concepts of Zope 3 component architecture such as subscription adapters, browser views and resources, among others. In the next few pages, we will fully explore the Zope 3 world by creating content components (that is, content types in the Zope 3 way).
At the time of writing this book, Plone did not run on the Zope 3 application server, but Zope 2. How's it possible then to use Zope 3 modules in Plone? Fortunately, Zope 3 has been conceived, from its very beginning, as a collection of software components (read Python packages) that can be integrated within other software components. Thanks to the Five project, Zope 3 technology can be plugged into Zope 2 so that we can use most of the new ways of doing things when developing for Plone.
We have already covered the first three requirements of our customer (see preface of the book). We will now start the tasks to accommodate the following two:
