If we put down this book for a moment and think about the buildings and homes that surround the place where we currently are, we probably would find that the home or building next door isn't the same as the one a few blocks or miles away. It might be the color, the coverings, the windows, or the look of each one. They all have something that makes them unique over the ones to the left and right of them. Our virtual community is the same way and we need to make our Blackboard Learn instance unique to our users' needs along with creating the welcoming and informative atmosphere that we want to convey to our users.
In this chapter we are going to learn how we can do this—by changing the theme, branding, login page, and many other options—to make our Blackboard Learn instance a home sweet home for our virtual community.
