So far we've spent much of our time reviewing how to manage our Blackboard Learn system. Now it's time to take the system and its operation to the next level and optimize it. As we discussed in Chapter 1, Planning a Blackboard Learn Instance, our hardware and software needs should be a part of our planning. However, after building an instance and allowing user traffic, we begin to learn our virtual community's flows or traffic patterns. Now, we need to look at our environment and search for areas where we can optimize it. Our first option is to look at the series of tasks that run on the system throughout the day.
Earlier in this chapter, we mentioned the Disk Usage task. This is one of many tasks that run on a regular basis within Blackboard Learn.
