Summary

Make sure you have a dedicated development and staging environments with version control and backups as this is essential. Although this seems like an obvious statement, it's easy to fall into the trap of setting up a site on a single server and working on that installation without considering what will happen once content is entered and changes need to be made. The most common problems and delays on eZ publish projects are related to gathering and entering the content; so it's important to consider that as an important part of the implementation plan. It's not just about building the content classes and developing the features, it's getting the content into the system to make sure it's working as expected.
