Changing the appearance of the core modules


This part of the chapter will focus on changing the appearance of some of the core modules so that they will blend in nicely with the theme that we are building. We will not be changing all of the core activity modules because some will be left to change on your own at the end of this book. The modules that we will be changing are the forum and glossary modules.

Forum module

The first—and probably the most important—module to change is the forum module. This module is used extensively through Moodle, and is added by default to every course created. It is also the module that is used for the site news on the home page of Moodle. You will not be making huge changes here, but will just be changing the border and the header so that they look like the block headers that you created earlier.
