Time for action—extracting and installing your Moodle theme


In this section, you will extract the Moodle theme that you have just downloaded, and you will install it in your Moodle theme folder.

  1. 1. Navigate to the folder to which you have downloaded the Moodle theme and extract it by using your computer's ZIP extraction software. You may have WinZip or you may be using Windows' own ZIP software. If you have left the download location as the default location, then your Autumn theme ZIP file will be in the Downloads directory of the My Documents folder, as seen below:

  2. 2. Right-click on the autumn.zip file, roll your mouse over ZipGenius, and a context menu will appear. Choose Extract Here.

  3. 3. Right-click on the autumn folder and choose Copy.

  4. 4. Now, navigate to the theme folder inside your Moodle installation folder. If you followed the installation instructions on Moodle, this should be in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache\htdocs\theme. Once you are in the theme folder...
