Migrating to IPv6

IPv6 support has been added to AWS since December 2016. So VPCs created prior to that didn't have IPv6 support. This recipe shows how to add IPv6 support with VPCs that have been created with the IPv4 option only.

Getting ready

Log in to your AWS account with proper permissions for creating the required components.

How to do it...

  1. Open the VPC dashboard by browsing to https://console.aws.amazon.com/vpc. Select the VPC without IPv6 support. You can see that IPv6 CIDR is blank as shown in the following screenshot:

  1. Click Actions...
