PerformancePoint Services, a feature available in the Enterprise edition of SharePoint 2010, allows you to create compelling dashboards with live data from the Service Manager data warehouse. When you publish dashboards to a SharePoint site, end users can navigate them by using page filters and drill-up and drill-down functionality. You can also use Dashboard Designer to create views and elements, such as scorecard elements, KPIs, data sources, indicators, and reports for use in dashboards.
The instructions in this recipe assume that you have an Enterprise Edition of SharePoint 2010 dedicated for Service Manager and that the Service Manager Self-Service Portal has been installed on this instance of SharePoint.
Before you can start creating dashboards using Dashboard Designer, you must activate PerformancePoint Services in your SharePoint environment.
