Summary

Dev Hub comes out of the box with any Qlik Sense installation. It is the go-to place if you are a beginner and want to start creating mashups, extensions, and widgets, or to convert QlikView files into Qlik Sense applications. It is, however, not recommend to use Dev Hub for advanced projects, and you should instead use all the recommendations covered in the following chapters.

Dev Hub also provides an Engine API explorer, which comes in handy when developing extensions.

Whether you are new to Qlik Sense or a seasoned developer, there is a lot you can learn from Dev Hub by dragging and dropping objects, and inspecting the code behind it.

Many developers will prefer to use external integrated development environments (IDE) to create what Dev Hub offers, but I advise you spend a good amount of time exploring all of the possibilities it offers.
