Previsualizing image corrections using V-Ray FrameBuffer


One thing you may be questioning at this point could be the reason why we appear to have kept our renders quite so dark throughout this chapter? After all, doesn't V-Ray have lots of tools and options that could have been used to brighten things up just a little? Well the answer to that question would most certainly be yes.

We could, for instance, have altered our camera's exposure settings, or worked with non linearized materials, meaning they would bounce a lot more light around the environment. We haven't taken any of those steps however so that we could give you a taste of just how powerful V-Rays floating point rendering can be when combined with the power of image post-processing tools.

The brilliant thing about V-Ray is that we don't even have to go into an image-editing application such as Photoshop in order to actually use this workflow. We can instead do some basic image post-processing or color correction using the tools that...
