Assessing data

In any business, data is key, and it grows fast, resulting in the use of various databases and data stores that are used to securely store that data. Sometimes the data is in different formats, and it needs to be worked on to bring it into the same format to avoid confusion. But before we go into a deep discussion on data, let's first understand the differences between data migration, conversion, and integration:

  • Data migration: Data migration is the process of moving data from one system or application to another. This is usually the result of retiring a system to upgrade to a new system that provides improved business functionality. As more businesses move from on-premises systems to cloud infrastructure, they realize that the data must be moved alongside the application for continued business operations.
