To understand visible risks, we will look at some scenario-based examples. Let’s suppose I can steal your password – let’s say your social network password, be it Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or whatever you use. That is a risk as it’ll give me access to your private information. Now, what if I post something that puts you in trouble legally? What if I post something using your account against the government, the company where you work, or something that enrages society or your friends? Is that risky? Of course! It can have very serious consequences too.
Now, let me share the possible ways in which I can steal your social network password. Broadly, to do so, I will have to choose between hacking Facebook servers or hacking your system. It’s easy to assume that hacking into Facebook servers is far more difficult than hacking into your phone or PC to steal your password.
