Documenting the network process for future use

Documentation of the network is extremely important to an organization’s IT infrastructure, the network process, and any other activities that are going on. It provides the paper trail and a history of events that have occurred – whether it be a new implementation of next-generation switching, moving from a bare-metal environment to a virtual one, applying the DevOps process to life cycle management, or changing to a different routing protocol. It’s a single source of truth of the organization’s infrastructure.
