Once the installation and configuration procedure is finished, it is time to see whether you are able to access web pages served by your brand new Apache server. The simplest way to do this is to open up a web browser such as Internet Explorer and navigate to http://localhost/

That's a relief, of course, but the big hurdle is yet to come. We now need to see whether we can serve up a PHP page. In order to do that, we will create a simple PHP page and place it into the document root of the server's directory. In your Apache directory structure, look for the htdocs
folder, usually under C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\
