Understanding various types of securities

There are two types of security that are broadly used for securing the document in QlikView:

  • Manual security
  • Automatic security

In case of manual security, you have to manually specify the username and the relative permissions, such as the password, and the data that they should look at. In the case of automatic security, you utilize Active Directory groups, which are basically security groups in which your user information is stored, along with the information about whether they are from a particular geographic area, or from a particular department, and that information will be restricted for that particular user.
