Connecting to Twitter using OAuth


Appcelerator doesn't currently provide an integrated method of connecting to Twitter in your Titanium applications. However, there are plenty of other options available. One of the best libraries is provided by Joe Purcell and is called "Birdhouse". In this recipe we are going to set up a Twitter application online, get the necessary API keys together (much the same as we did for Facebook), and then implement the OAuth libraries from Google, and finally, the Birdhouse Titanium module.

How to do it...

Before we can try to implement the Birdhouse and OAuth libraries, we first need to create an application through Twitter.
