In the previous chapter, we learned about 'Validation rules'; we'll learn all about security in this chapter. Someone once said "the ultimate security is ones understanding of reality". Let us explore what in reality Hyperion Planning has to offer in terms of security.

We shall take a look at the conversation between two gentlemen. One is a Hyperion Consultant implementing Planning at a client office's and the other person is the client-side project owner.

Client: I was wondering if Hyperion Planning can provide any security, as currently we have spreadsheet based budgeting and we know it is not protected.

Hyperion Consultant: Of course, yes, setting up security is a part of any Planning project implementation and we should do it.
