Planning Application creation process


The section explains the complete process overview of a typical Hyperion Planning application creation. The following steps are in sequence and the order is important:

  1. Application creation: This is the very fist step to create a Planning application. We'll create the data source database (Relational repository DB) for the Planning application and then we will start the Planning application creation process. We will also ensure that all the pre-requisites are met as a part of this step.

  2. Dimensional structure: As we start creating Planning application, we need to set the Currencies, Calendar, and Plan type.

    Currencies and Calendar settings would help in creation of standard Planning dimensions of period, year, and currency. Coming to the other standard dimensions such as entity, account, year, period, scenario, and version, we need to load metadata.
