Yes, I completely agree with William Ross Wallace on his statement, we can also say that a Business rule is like a mother and will rock the cradle of Hyperion Planning application.

This is one of the most important chapters of this book. So far, we have seen planners entering data into web data forms, but the complex activity of calculating the entered data is done with the help of Business rules. Hyperion Planning has a very powerful engine of Business rules, which are capable of handling even complex business requirements such as the allocation rules across the dimensions effectively. Hyperion Planning inherits this capability from Essbase as it is built on top of the Essbase, which, apart from storing multidimensional data, also provides a very strong calculation engine. Therefore, the analytical capability of Hyperion Planning lies in the hands of Business rules.
