Auditing user access

If the organization-level auditing is enabled, you can record when a user logs in to Microsoft Dynamics CRM in your audit log by enabling user access auditing. The audit log of the user access is available in the Audit Summary View page.

Tip

Auditing user access

The user access auditing feature was introduced in Update Rollup 7 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM, published in February 2012. The MB2-866 exam was written before Update Rollup 7 was published, so the exam questions are unlikely to examine the user access auditing feature.

To start or stop the user access auditing, follow these steps:

  1. In the navigation pane, click on Settings.

  2. In the System group, click on Auditing.

  3. Click on Global Audit Settings.

  4. Under the Auditing tab in the System Settings pop-up window, check the Audit user access checkbox to start user access auditing or uncheck the Audit user access checkbox to stop user access auditing.

  5. Click on OK.
