Managing the audit log

Audit operations are stored in an audit log. A separate audit log is created every three months. Over time, these audit logs can consume a significant amount of storage on your database server (for the CRM on-premise deployments) or your allocated storage space (for the CRM Online deployments). If database storage is a concern, you can delete the audit logs when it is no longer necessary to store them according to your organization's record retention policy.

Tip

Deleting multiple audit logs

You can only delete the oldest audit log. Repeat the following procedure, if you wish to delete more than one audit log.

To delete an audit log, follow these steps:

  1. In the navigation pane, click on Settings.

  2. Then in the System group, click on Auditing.

  3. Click on Audit Log Management.

  4. Select the oldest audit log and click on the Delete Logs button.

  5. In the confirmation message, click on OK.
